New concept for the Heinz Erhardt area in the GOP Theater

The GOP Varieté Theater in Hanover has a long history. With its first show on May 25th, 1948 it quickly gained a very good reputation and received a strong cultural importance for the city. Famous artists from throughout Germany performed on this Hanoverian stage: the magician Kalang, Paul Hörbinger, Gert Fröbe, Josephine Baker, Olga Tschechowa, Heinz Erhardt and – last but not least – Zarah Leander.

Yet, also this theater suffered from the victory march of television and it had to close in 1962. 30 years later – in 1992 – the family Grote reopened it again and immediately repeated the success of the GOP from the 50s. The theater has its fingers firmly on the pulse – with different shows, guests and artist, they constantly convince the audience.

But also for the Heinz Erhardt area it was about time for a change. Following the main idea of arrival, sojourn and entertainment the walls and tables were covered with a collage summing up the history of the theater. With a reserved color and lighting concept the lounge now presents a modern atmosphere.
